Job Description

The role
We have an exciting opportunity for a GIS Technician to join Alpine Energy following an internal promotion within the team. This is a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of spatial and non-spatial asset information that supports our network operations and decision-making.


As a GIS Technician, you will:
•    Enter and maintain accurate, up-to-date spatial and non-spatial data for Alpine Energy’s assets
•    Provide excellent customer service by delivering asset information within agreed timeframes
•    Verify data captured by other staff or external parties using quality assurance techniques
•    Assist internal stakeholders to effectively use GIS data for business decisions
•    Support training for staff and external parties on GIS standards and processes


What You’ll need
•    A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
•    Strong skills in data auditing and quality assurance
•    Understanding of database structures, particularly geodatabases
•    High attention to detail and proven ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team


Nice to haves
•    Electrical industry-related GIS training (ArcGIS Desktop or ArcGIS Pro)
•    Experience with ESRI web applications, SQL, and power distribution GIS systems
•    2–3 years’ experience in a similar role
