The role
Join us at Alpine Energy as a Faultperson and help keep South Canterbury connected. We have an opportunity for an experienced professional to respond to faults, restore supply, and support the safe operation of our electricity network. You will play a critical role in keeping the power on for our communities, responding to routine and emergency events across the Alpine network.
As a Faultperson in our team, you will:
- Act as a first responder on-site, working calmly with Emergency Services and Network Control
- Locate, repair, and resolve faults across varied locations and weather conditions
- Install, replace, and maintain overhead distribution equipment including transformers, switches, and conductors
What you’ll need
To be successful your experience will include a combination of:
- EWRB Registered as either Electrician, Line Mechanic or Cable Jointer
- Experienced in the electrical distribution and supply industry
- Hold (or be willing to work towards) NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply Level 4 - (Fault Response), NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply Level 3 (Field Switching), and Transpower Connected Party Operating
- Residing in New Zealand, with New Zealand citizenship or New Zealand permanent residency
- Current NZ Driver’s License
Nice to haves
- NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply Level 4 (Fault Response)
- NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply Level 3 (Field Switching)
- Transpower Connected Party Operating competency
