The role
Join Alpine Energy as an Asset Inspector and help keep South Canterbury’s electricity network safe, reliable, and performing at its best. You’ll carry out inspections and testing on key assets across our region including substations, transformers, ring mains, distribution boxes, earth systems, and pole‑mounted equipment. Your work will directly support network safety, asset health, and long‑term performance for our communities.
As an Asset Inspector in our team, you will:
- Assess the condition of substations, transformers, earth systems, and distribution assets
- Plan and organise inspection routes to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime
- Work collaboratively with landowners, contractors, and internal teams
What you’ll need
To be successful your experience will include a combination of:
- EWRB Level 4 Registered as either an Electrician, Line Mechanic or Cable Jointer
- Familiarity with Permit-to-Work requirements
- Physical fitness to safely perform inspection tasks
- A current NZ driver’s licence
Nice to haves
- Working knowledge of SM‑EI
- Current PHC
- 2–5 years' industry experience in electrical distribution
- Experience in inspection, maintenance, or field operations
